We help people find their way to work they can love

Hurihia to aroaro ki te ra tukuna to atarangi kia taka ki muri i a koe

Turn your face to the sun and let the shadows fall behind you

Our thing.

I love my job.

How many can say that? Not enough and we think that’s grim.

When we love our work, it’s easy to jump out of bed, even on a Monday. When we love our jobs, we work harder and longer, but it doesn’t feel like it, because we’re in the moment, in ‘flow’, as they say.

It’s backed by research. People who are highly engaged in their jobs are happier, more productive and less likely to suffer mental and physical ailments. There are economic benefits too. Companies with engaged employees are higher performing because they attract great people and get more from them and keep them longer.

Joyful work leads to a more joyful life, all round. It’s kind of obvious, right?  Apparently not. Only a handful of people report high job engagement.

That’s where we come in. At amp’d, we’re crazy about helping people find joy in work.

How do we do that?  Step One - give people career planning skills!

Somehow, through our education and life, developing career planning skills is not typically prioritised. And yet during our lifetime, after sleeping, work takes up most of our time by a country mile!  This. Does. Not. Compute!

Most of us know it’s about aligning our interests and skills with the right work but we struggle to pull our ideas together and make a plan to get there. So we’ve developed programmes that tease all that stuff out.

We don’t tell people what to do or where to go. That’s up to them. But we’ll give them all the tools they need to decide and then, Step Two - start their journey to a more joyful work life.

Now, it’s fair to say we’re small, so we can’t change the world today but we have big plans!
