Leaders taking a coach approach to grow their people

Upskilling leaders to have meaningful performance and development conversations delivers benefits fast.

Your leaders will be energised to engage in meaningful conversations around current performance and career exploration (more often!) and confident to play an active part in helping your people get where they want to go. Quite possibly changing their lives for the better.

Employees look to their managers first for their development, whether that is to be great at the job they have, or preparing for their next step.

Managers need coaching skills and confidence to be able to guide meaningful conversations that result in action.

These conversations are often less than satisfactory for a few reasons:

  • Leaders don’t feel properly resourced

  • Leaders focus is often on under performance, so most individuals are not receiving regular attention to lift performance

  • Leaders assume individuals know what they want, and how to progress their careers. Most don’t and may be reluctant to say so

  • Leaders can be uncomfortable in conversations when they don’t 'have the answer', or aren’t sure how to progress development ideas meaningfully.

Delivered in person or virtually, our 2 × 2.5 hour workshop programme offers leaders the opportunity to understand the benefits of quality performance and development conversations, learn proven career coaching frameworks and practice their coaching skills using our helpful resources.

Practice makes perfect! We know it takes time to build confidence so we also include a 90 minute post-workshop, skill boosting follow up session to further build skills and confidence.

Who is this for?

Any group of people leaders in your organisation who are not already skilled coaches and could benefit from upskilling on leading better performance and development conversations. We’ve run this workshop for professional services firm principals through to frontline leaders.
