Change someone’s life for the better
Upskilling leaders to have meaningful development conversations delivers benefits fast.
Your leaders will be energised to engage in meaningful conversations around career exploration (more often!) and confident to play an active part in helping your people get where they want to go! Quite possibly changing their lives for the better.
In a tight labour market, or any time for that matter, a winning retention and engagement strategy is helping your people get clear on their career direction and finding opportunities for development in your organisation. There is a tonne of research to support this.
Most people need help with career direction and typically look to their leaders for that. But leading great career conversations can be hard, especially if you’ve never been trained.
It is a rare thing for leadership programmes to include career coaching skills. It’s just assumed leaders know how to do it. They don’t. And we think it’s one of the main reasons these conversations end up being wholly unsatisfactory and unproductive for all parties!
Delivered in person or virtually, our half-day Leading Career Conversations workshop offers leaders the opportunity to understand the benefits of quality career development, learn proven career coaching frameworks and practice their coaching skills using our helpful resources.
Practice makes perfect! We know it takes time to build confidence so we also include a 90 minute post-workshop, skill boosting follow up session to further build skills and confidence.
Who is this for?
Any group of people leaders in your organisation who are not already skilled coaches and could benefit from upskilling on leading better development conversations. We’ve run this workshop for principals of a professional services firm through to frontline leaders.
